    Default For Sale - immaculate 306 S16

    FOR SALE: 1994 306 S16 (in Melbourne)

After much deliberation I've decided to sell my 306 S16. I'm selling it as I now have to use it to get to work (has previously always been in the carport), and I want to replace it with a cheaper car for work for the time being.

    Details:

First reg Dec '94 (it's the MY95 with airbag)
    134,000kms
    Sigma Blue
    complete service history
    2 owners
    leather/velour
    factory sunroof
12 stack CD (have original head unit as well)
brand new tyres, brakes, battery, windscreen
    8 months reg (vic)
    RWC

The car is in near pristine condition, and has been meticulously maintained by an enthusiast owner. All servicing since new has been by dealers and peugeot specialists, and the car has never been near a race track.

Body and paintwork are in immaculate condition (apart from stone chips on front), and the interior is in outstanding faultless condition. Mechanically the car is A1.

The car is original except for a high flow cotton 'Green' air filter, and a Janspeed factory authorised rear muffler, which gives the car a very sweet deep throaty bark that turns lots of heads.

The coil packs have been replaced, drivers window regulator replaced (both common faults), all 4 brake rotors are new, brand new battery, tyres, and a new windscreen will be fitted for RWC.

Any test welcome - inspection will not disappoint. It would have to be one of the best S16's in Australia. The car was at the recent French Car Day in Balwyn briefly in the afternoon.

    Price is $14,000

    Heya

Car has Bridgestone Potenza G111 on the rear, and Dunlop LM302s on front. It's a long story, but I had 4 x RE711's on it, had to replace one due to puncture, and the tyre outlet only had an LM302 in stock...so i had no choice. When I got the G111's I couldnt justify throwing away a near new $185 LM302, hence that's why they're different front and rear. I figure the new owner can scrub out the front tyres then replace them with G111's.

Front brake rotors were replaced with Brembo, as the peugeot rotors were only lasting 30k, and a slightly harder compound pad was fitted to reduce dust. Haven't noticed any lessening of braking ability, but there is a lot less brake dust.

Rear rotors were replaced a few weeks ago with Bendix (factory spec).

Is your dad in Sydney or Melb ?

thanks for the info - I'm gonna change the front brakes to something else too cause they're not lasting long. I've got a similar story with my tyres too, Michelin Pilot SX on the back and Khumo 711s on the front. I want Khumo's on the back too because they seem to last and perform quite well.

My dad's in Sydney but I'm holidaying in Melbourne 26th Apr to the 3rd May.

I'll have a chat to him but I know it's a long shot to end up actually getting your car...

Try DBA brakes $137ea for slotted. Have a look at the post I made on upgrading 306 brakes here.

Thanks Brad - I've already read your post with much interest I should add...
I think those DBA rotors look best (I'm not after better brake performance just want something to last longer though)

Paul (the mechanic in Sydney that's in hot demand for Peugeot owners) told me a few months ago that when the brake pads on the bront go (they were 80% left) the rotors also need replacing as they are worn. In the last week I've had the brake warning light come one and stay on for the first minute when starting the car in the morning. After a minute it dissapears and it doesnt even do it every morning. I'd prefer to use up these front brake pads and buy new pads and rotors in a few months but I guess you cant play around with someting as important as brakes.

sorry to be offtopic - this is a for sale thread afterall

Car is still for sale. Price is now $14,000, or 'as is' with no roadworthy for $13k.

Items for roadworthy - one tyre ($180), windscreen ($195), and repair to heater fan ($200 approx).
