    i bought a reg'd 604 in vic 2 years ago for $300

it was bought as a parts car

that just gives you a bit of an idea on what these great machines seem to be going for these days

thinking my mother sold her car for a lot more than that 12 years ago and i have paid various amounts for them over the years

i bought a wreck that was only 11 years old for $1400 with a new engine

604's go through waves and at the moment are going through a buyers market wave

be interesting to see what this car is like

i know i tracked down another car earlier this week that is going to get scrapped and mechanicals transplanted into a 504

i'll be seeing the previous owner of the car next weekend but it is sad to see these cars getting bought and scrapped

good ones are becoming very rare and as they were onnly sold here for 3 years and they weren't sold in any great number considering they were twice the price of a 504 at the time

which some people think they either weren't twice the car of a 504 or the 504 wasn't 1/2 the car a 604 was at the time

seeing as the 504 when released was a totally new car for peugeot to replace the very aged 404 at the time and at the time the 504 was on the market here they were $1000 more than a 404

anyway that's a whole other story

We have two 604s at the moment and a lifetime of spares, however one has been stripped down to virtually just the bare chassis, while the other has a lot of work to be done on it...
We're really after a cheap 604 that will go with very little effort, but at the same time nothing that's been treated like a cat in a chinese restaurant (IE, strangled and killed).

I'm wondering if the 604 is in Vic or NSW. It might have Vic rego but reside in NSW, hmm...

The body needs to be stripped back and sprayed and some of the interior re-upholstered. I'm not too sure about the mechanical side of things though.

That's on Dad's to-do list along with a dozen other cars. DOH!

I think it's a Trading Post ad... it says 'Russell Island' then the phone number, which is Trading Post form.

And danielsydney seems to be a Sydney-area resident, while Russell Island is about 920kms north of Sydney.

I could probably arrange to drive it down if the incentive is there... and there's enough of March in the rego.

Weber carby, renewed master cylinder, water pump, timing chain, cracked screen, engine's good... according to owner. March 19 rego... if it's not sold he'll re-register and keep another year.

Says it's 'typical Peugeot... full of rust' but well bogged up.
