    Default Peugeot 406 HDi Manual 2003 - ACT or Melbourne - $6500

We're moving to Melbourne next month so my 406 HDi is up for sale. I love this car but we're aiming to live in an inner suburb, hope not to need a car.

The best aspect of this car is definitely the fuel economy. Just got 5.2l/100km overall on a Sydney trip last weekend. Routinely 4.6-4.7l/100km on open highway and 7.2-7.5l/100km around Canberra.

Plus it's a great comfortable car to drive, particularly on the open road.

Can inspect in Canberra now until next Wednesday 21 November, in Melbourne 22-27 November, or in Canberra again from 29 November. Happy to sell in either Canberra or Melbourne.

Car has 238,000km at the moment. It's a 2003 model, manufactured 11/2002. We're the second owners, have had it for past 3 years & 40,000km.

Sold with ACT registration until February.

Has all the usual features: cruise control, trip computer, auto wipers and headlights, climate control, electric windows and mirrors, CD player, airbags for driver, passenger and side airbags, seat belt pretensioners, etc. Front seats have custom made sheepskin seat covers.

The previous owner had it serviced it at the dealer in Cowra. I've done all the scheduled servicing myself since we've owned it, except for the 240,000 km timing belt replacement which was recently done at Alpine Motors in Phillip. I have a log of everything I've replaced or serviced.

    Notable repairs:
    * Com2000 unit new in February (a known trouble point on early-mid 2000s Peugeots.)
    * Tyres all good, fronts have <10,000km on them.
    * New intercooler last year as I noticed the old one was leaking slightly.

Everything works on the car including all the bells and whistles, although the automatic wipers can be a bit under-sensitive in light rain so often need to be turned on normally.

The body is generally very good, a few minor parking lot scrapes and small dents (see the photos below) but nothing serious.

Alpine motors did advise that the auxiliary belt tensioner and pulley were both a bit noisy but they said it's not serious or urgent. The only other mechanical aspect is that I've removed the top plastic engine cover, the mounts were broken when we bought the car.

The car comes with an (uninstalled) towbar as well, available as a bonus if you're collecting the car in Canberra or want to arrange shipping for it. I bought it here on Aussiefrogs but never fitted it.

Selling for $6500. Inspections welcome, please get in touch via PM on this forum or give me a call 0432 897 465.

Now in Melbourne until Wednesday morning (unless sold here, in which case it stays and I'm flying back to the ACT!)

Bump! Still for sale, now has 12 months Victorian registration. Will be going in for a Victorian RWC as soon as the post-Christmas everything-closed period is over.
