I need some rocker switches for the windows on my SM they look like the swithes that are on a Renault 16. They are 3 position with 6 terminals (spade type) on the back, any help appreciated

I'll check for you Markm, but I am sure my son bought some for the CX, from of all places Dick Smith electronics for a very paltry sum after being quoted a price for new ones that made his hair stand on end. eek! eek! That was a few years ago & he's not the gentlest soul on a car & they've lasted, so they can't be too bad. They looked good too; bright shiny black.

Hi Mark,
The switches are very simple to pull apart. They have big copper contacts in them that just get oxidised. Give 'em a good clean and they'll last another 30years :D

Not sure if this helps, but we used to replace the electric window switches in R17's with Fuego switches - the internals of the Feugo switch are more like a microswitch, rather than the "bendy copper" ones that were original to the car. Better switch action as well..
I'm 99% sure these are the same size/profile as the old R16 ones...

Thanks everyone, Shane one of the switches went BOING when I opened it and the bits are somewhere in the front part of the car, the action was knackered with no self centering anyway (thats my excuse) so I will replace them. the car is still on its way so I can't measure them but I will have a look at Jaycar and Dick Smith and Fuego

I have been on an American site and they say that Pug 504 ones are also the same. so where can I get some new ones at reasonable prices?

Hey Mark,
Some of the Peugeots from the 70's had identical switches to R16 Renaults.
There's more likely to be Pugs out there with electric windows than early Renaults.
Ren cheers!

if you can you will probably find it easier to buy the switches new as there weren't that many 504's with power windows
they were an option on TI's and standard on LTI's
you can try warren spares in sydney or dapco
i think they will be the most likely best bets
someone here should have their numbers

Warren's closed down more than a year ago.
P504, Dapco or Collier's may have them.
