Peugeot Car Stereo PIN Code

Does anyone know the correct key sequence for entering the PIN code on a Peugeot 505 car stereo? I've been given the PIN but I'm not sure if you need to press any other buttons to enter it or if you need to turn it on and off before and after etc. I don't have the glove box guide to the car so I'm completely in the dark on this one.

Is it a Peugeot-Clarion stereo? On mine you switch it on, there's a blank screen, then punch in the four digit code, and moments later it comes to life. No other buttons need to be pressed.

I think it is a Clarion stereo. It is the original tape deck in a 1986 505 SLi. I'll give this a go this afternoon.

Be careful (try only once) unless someone else has confirmed this is the way to go about it. You don't want to kill it - who knows how few attempts it will let you have before shutting down for good?!

Mine's a 1991 Clarion with tape deck. Likely that it's a similar security setup.

Good thought. I have no idea how many attempts the stereo allows.
